The Upper Room Discourse #3 - The Vine and the Branches

from Open House Church Sermons · host KJ Tromp

A branch may stay green briefly after a storm, but without the tree it soon withers. Israel failed to bear the justice and righteousness God sought, but Jesus is the faithful vine, and God accepts His people because Jesus obeyed. Through His death, Jesus cleans His disciples once for all. The Father continues pruning them, sometimes through hard things, so they bear obedient fruit. Life and obedience come only by remaining in Jesus, and His branches cannot live as disconnected Christians. Bible Reference: John 15:1–17 Preacher: KJ Tromp
