A leopard can sit five metres away and remain unseen until someone points it out. In the same way, people cannot understand the cross unless the Holy Spirit opens their eyes, rather than living as though it never happened. He exposes unbelief, measures human goodness against Jesus' righteousness, and makes God's judgement clear. Yet His work aims at rescue, not mere condemnation.
