The upper room ministry - Have you been washed? - Audio

With Jesus' "public" ministry coming to an end, He turns now to his disciples with what some call His "upper room" ministry. Reclined at the table celebrating Passover, Jesus does something totally unexpected: he clothes himself in a towel and begins to wash the disciples feet. Assuming the role of a servant or even a despised Gentile slave, He models for the disciples what it is to be great in the Kingdom of God and that they need to serve and love one another in like fashion. He even does this for Judas, who He knew was going to betray him. More importantly, though, he was alluding to the fact that He was actually going to lay His life down for the world, and that by doing so, He would wash sin away for those who believed.
