No longer can it call Maduro an undemocratic dictator as it did through the early 2000s and so it has changed tactics. Maduro is now a drug kingpin and a designated terrorist with a bounty on his head. The US wants to invade Venezuela for its oil and to destroy the example it is presenting to the world that there in fact is a different route from capitalism; that route is called socialism.
