🇺🇸 The US wants to fight drugs in the world... but not at home.

from Totally Exposed By Navarro Podcast · host Totally Exposed By Navarro

The United States has been imposing its “war on drugs” outside its borders for decades: millions of dollars in military operations, pressure on Latin American governments and diplomatic campaigns to stop trafficking. But there is a question that their own speech avoids: why can’t they - or don’t want to - fight the problem within their own country?Every year, more than 100,000 Americans die from an overdose, mainly of fentanyl. The streets of cities like Philadelphia, Los Angeles or San Francisco show scenes of humanitarian crisis: people consuming in broad daylight, entire neighborhoods dominated by addiction. Despite that, Washington prefers to point out Mexico or Colombia as the culprits. The double speech is evident. The United States tolerates a pharmaceutical system that for years enriched corporations such as Purdue Pharma, directly responsible for the opioid epidemic. There are no equivalent sanctions, no troops in their own territory, no military objectives... only silence and propaganda.Meanwhile, the DEA, the Pentagon and intelligence agencies are intensifying their presence in Latin America, as if the root of the disaster were outside their borders. But the drug does not cross only through tunnels: the demand occurs in the very heart of the United States, among a society sick of consumption, inequality and hopelessness. The real war on drugs is not fought in Mexico or Colombia: it should be fought on the streets of the United States, against its own system of complicity, addiction and profit.
