Today we start a brand new summer series in the book of James that we’re calling Crosscurrent Living. As people who love Jesus we are called to live differently than the world around us. That’s why this series is going to be so good: it’s going to focus on living in a way that reflects Christ in all life’s challenges. James is practical, applicable, foundational stuff for the first century church and the 21st century church. Early Christians had the same mission we do: to love God, love others and make disciples. In our context we exist to connect people to Jesus and help them grow to love and serve Him. It’s all rooted in the great commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
