The Venables Dilemma: Accountability Without Division
from SoonerNation: Oklahoma Sooners Hosted by AC Sports
Oklahoma’s defense keeps fighting, but how much longer can it carry the load? After the frustrating loss to Kentucky, the spotlight is shifting beyond the scoreboard. Offensive struggles, short possessions, turnovers, and field-position problems are putting the defense in difficult situations—and the pressure on Brent Venables is growing. Let's break down the growing imbalance between Oklahoma’s offense and defense, the challenge Venables faces in demanding accountability without creating division, and why this Saturday’s matchup with Mississippi State could be an important opportunity for the Sooners to respond. Oklahoma doesn’t have to become an offensive juggernaut overnight. But it needs an identity, sustained drives, better decisions, and proof that the problems are being addressed. Can Venables get this offense moving before frustration becomes an even bigger problem in Norman? #oklahomasooners #oufootball #BoomerSooner #Sooners #SoonerNation
