I spent much of my adolescence in the woods,hiking, communing, observing.  I graduated from Greenway High School in 1960 and St. John's University, Collegeville MN, in 1964.  I began my teaching career at Leroy-Ostrander High School in Leroy, MN, then Washington High School in Milwaukee, then University School-Milwaukee, and finally at Marquette University High School for the final thirty-nine years.  I was married to Judith for fifty-two years until cancer intervened and we have four fine children.  I am now retired but I do miss teaching.William R. Having become a writer after deciding it was the only sensible thing for a problem drinker to do, Hincy aspires to use literature to connect society on an emotional level through characters who no longer create messes but have instead become the mess. Hincy has won the American Fiction Award and been named a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Award and two International Book Awards. Without Expiration, his personal anthology of short fiction, was named one of the Best Books of 2020 by Kirkus Reviews. He now lives outside Los Angeles with his wife and kids, having found solace in the notion that the only things sacred are self and spiced rum.Interested in being a guest?
