The Voice Episode 72: Hosting a TEDx Talk with Erin Gee
from The Voice · host IABC Ottawa
This week on The Voice our host Tina Barton sits down with Erin Gee, chief organizer of Ottawa’s TEDxElginSt event this past weekend: Rethink. Rebuild. Erin shares some insights on how to host a TEDx event and talks about best practices when it comes to event planning in general. She begins by describing what makes TEDx events different from most conferences, so listeners can consider “why TEDx?” (or why not, as the case may be—there are strict requirements, as Tina and Erin discuss). Erin gives listeners an overview of the steps to take to host your own TEDx Talk, and shares some of her lessons learned for boosting community engagement to help shape event success. Erin isn’t the first, or the last, to host TEDx Talks in Ottawa, there are currently several groups, including: TEDx Carleton,Rideau Canal, UOttawa and Gatineau.
