The Voice From the Background

from Brangassivo's Feed · host Mathias Schneider

Some lyrics of my own (with a little help) Song The Voice From the Background A flower stands by the roadside, looking so sweet, And I look at her closely and wonder why she's there on the street. Is she perhaps working the streets, or what does she want to achieve? She is beautiful. She has shiny, brown hair, I believe. Is she perhaps working the streets, or what does she want to achieve? She is beautiful. She has shiny, brown hair, I believe. What does she need the money for? Why is she standing here? What kind of world is this? But it's none of my business, I fear. I look at her and she looks away. She is embarrassed, I must say. This is what happens here, She is forsaken by all good spirits, it is clear. She can stand there for a long time… And when she can't laugh anymore in the evening, And when she sits there and cries, And the savior in need is the drug, Then she is united with all the darkness, it's a rug. She is united with all the darkness, With all the powers of life, That are bad And corrupt people, full of strife. And then she stands There with a pile of shards and is forgotten, it's true, She spoils and withers… She can hold out for a few years, But then she is lost, it appears. She is only granted a few years… Nothing will remain but the pile of shards And all the bad moments, it's hard. Things you don't want to remember… Even though she is a beautiful flower And is still in her youth, It is still the case that I lose my appetite, that's the truth. I think flowers should remain flowers, We don't need to pluck them, it's true. I think flowers should remain flowers, We don't need to pluck them, it's true. It brings me no joy to destroy a life. I don't want to conjure up the downfall of a young person, no strife. I don't want to conjure that up. It would bother me, fill my cup.
