The Voice of EMS: Chief Johnson and Two Choices

from The Voice of EMS · host One EMS

Charles had the opportunity to sit down with Richard Johnson of Wayne County EMS. During this interview, we get an insight into some of the history and changes that have happened over the years, the challenges of rural ems, and how Richard has successfully used an on-call system to keep his trucks staffed.    "When the chief said 'when you work for someone else there are two answers to give - Yes Ma'am/Sir or I quit.' I knew it could be taken many ways. For me, I understood it immediately. When we bring our skills to the table for someone else to use (like an employer) they get to choose how to use those talents to the benefit of the company. I believe we lose sight of the fact that we contribute to a whole and sometimes those goals align with ours and sometimes they don't."   Follow us on:   Instagram: WeAreOneEMS   Twitter: @WeAreOneEMS   Facebook.com/WeAreOneEMS   TikTok: WeAreOneEMS Youtube: tiny.cc/oneemsyt
