In news headlines, we will take a look at the 2018 Louisiana harvest season, as farmers are in the middle of sugarcane and second crop rice harvest, while wrapping up harvest of the soybean and cotton crops. Don Molino will also look into the beginning of the 2019 crawfish season. Louisiana’s 5th District Congressman Ralph Abraham checks in to give us some information on a bill he filed last week to help Louisiana soybean farmers and to give us an update on the 2018 Farm Bill. Avery Davidson goes “In the Field” to Richard Fontenot’s farm in Evangeline Parish. Richard has garnered national attention recently with the loss of his soybean crop. On the day Avery visited his farm, CNBC had a film crew there. Our regular market analysts, Greg Fox and Dave Foster, give us an update on the grain and cattle markets, then we wrap it up with a look at the Louisiana Ag Calendar.
