Still in the archives beneath Station KFEX, Luna traces the folder with her own name back to a transcript of a broadcast from six years ago — a broadcast by a woman named Violet, who signed off before the scream. Luna plays the master tape and hears the voice of the last thing that spoke before the station went dark. Then the recording shifts: a whispered sentence aimed directly at her, using her name, in a voice that isn't the radio host's — and that she recognizes from somewhere else. The lights flicker. The door to the stairs clicks shut. Luna is trapped in the dark with a stack of unlabeled tapes and a phone that keeps ringing. She answers it. On the other end: the same whisper, live, now.
