The Void

We lie in a field of grass, And watch bright lights flash by, Watch the day turn into night And creatures drop from the sky We lie in a field of leaves, Watching with eyes of a child, Fear the lights and the darkness alike As our minds grow ever more wild. We lie in a field of flowers, And fear to open our eyes, As the night slowly turns into day We grit out teeth and bide our time. We lie in a field of dust, And watch lovers dance in their flesh, The rhythms entrance and bind us tight To another round without rest.
