The Waitress and the Man with No Shadow

It's the summer of 1987 in Bakersfield, California, and Luna is working the graveyard shift at the 24-hour diner on Chester Avenue. A man in a cream suit walks in at 2:47 AM. He orders black coffee, no sugar, and sits in booth six. His movements are too smooth, his eyes never blink, and when he stands to leave, his shadow stays behind on the seat.
