The Way of Jesus—Matthew 6:19–24

Jesus warns that wealth can become a dangerous rival to God, offering a false sense of security, fostering greed, and competing for our worship, while inviting us instead to find lasting security and abundance in God's kingdom. He teaches that practicing generosity and simplicity frees us from the grip of money, allowing our hearts to be shaped by God's love and to become a source of blessing for others. Ultimately, Jesus points to His own generosity on the cross as the foundation for true freedom, reminding us that because God has already given us everything in Christ, we can live with open hands and wholehearted trust in Him.
