The "WE" in John 9 (John 9:4)

In our last podcast, we hit an interesting passage: John 9.4. And we admittedly, took the most expedient root to the interpretation and we're not the only ones. It's a fairly common interpretation. Jesus is there with his disciples, and He says something very curious: He says: "As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work." I honestly didn't like our interpretation. I noted that we were seeing creation language all through Chapter 9, and I remembered God's use of the plural "Let us make man in our image..." in Genesis 1:26. So I connected the dots. Jesus is speaking exactly the same way here - not referring to his disciples at all. And when you consider this interpretive viewpoint, the whole thing makes a lot more sense. It doesn't feel like I'm trying to shoehorn in an interpretation to fit the narrative. Recommendation: Read John Chapter 9 in its entirety. Then study 9:4. Then go check out and check out Genesis 1:26 and see if you don't come to the same conclusion! This is what I call an easter egg within the scripture.  These are the same notes as last time.
