The Weird and the Weary Episode 42: The Oedipus Precipice

from The Weird and the Weary

Evolution dictates that for life to progress, changes must be made. Whether they are small or large, it does not matter, what matters is that life is capable of growing, flourishing, and adapting to the changes that occur by nature or by humankind's hand. In this week's episode, we touch on a taboo subject that is rightfully one that should not even be a topic of discussion: incest.  This week's subjects are the strange and sad cases of Barbara Daly Baekeland and her son, Anthony as well as the Colt Family in Australia. Ms. Baekeland was a socialite beauty who felt it was her duty to "cure" her son of his "affliction" of homosexuality which led to their tragic endings. The Colt Family were a bunch of familial relatives that were a little to close for one's liking. Get ready to be a little confused by some of humanity's choices (and honestly maybe our own?) as well delicately traipse through this week's episode, the Oedipus Precipice!
