Episode 50: On February 2, 2009, a resident walking her dog found a human femur bone on the West Mesa, a desert area then slated for residential development in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Subsequent excavations revealed the largest crime scene in the city's history. Authorities identified 11 females and one fetus. Most of the victims had disappeared between 2003 and 2005, were Hispanic, and were known to be involved in drug use or sex work. While the exact cause of death was difficult to determine due to the skeletal state of the remains, investigators suspect strangulation, as there was no evidence of gunshot wounds or blunt force trauma.
