from Purple City Podcast · host Jonah Strassel

whale1/(h)wāl/noun a very large marine mammal with a streamlined hairless body, a horizontal tail fin, and a blowhole on top of the head for breathing. ham·mer/ˈhamər/noun 1.a tool with a heavy metal head mounted at right angles at the end of a handle, used for jobs such as breaking things and driving in nails. WHALEHAMMER: LEGENDS OF THE ORIGIN STORY WHALEHAMMER was forged within the frost bitten confines of Winnipeg Canada. The band began as a two piece Rock + Roll outfit founded by cousins Roger Mourflier ll (singer/songwriter/guitarist) and Robert Schau ll (drummer/songwriter). Their intent was to expand upon their sound by adding additional members. Joshua Taillefer (synth, guitar, programmer, songwriter, backing vocals) joined the fold a few years after the bands initial inception bringing with him a wide array of skills and songs forever transforming augmenting the groups sonic identity. WHALEHAMMER's sound is an exciting concoction of electronic and progressive music built upon the foundation of strong and innovative songwriting that all three members have a hand in creating. This band is a sterling example of the sum being greater than it's parts. Song: "Broken Fixer" by WHALEHAMMER Intro: "The Fist that Hammers the Whale in the Pond" recorded 11/29/2024 Interview: WHALEHAMMER - recorded 10/23/2024 Happy Trails, Purple City... https://www.instagram.com/whalehammer/
