The Wheelchair Surfer | Beau Vernon - 371

Beau Vernon grew up being quite the sportsman indeed, both passionate and super active across a broad range of sports. His athleticism saw him excel in Aussie Rules Football and his passion for the sport saw him looking for a future that revolved around this, a future that envisioned (much like the rest of this life thus far) never sitting still.  Things changed suddenly and dramatically for Beau when at 23, whilst playing the game he loved so much, he sustained a spinal cord injury that lead to one week in an induced coma, eight months in hospital and a lifetime in a wheelchair with C5-C6 Quadriplegia.  It's fair to say this has not diminished Beau's love for sport (like seriously, he plays more sport than me... including golf and surfing, would ya believe it), his drive to succeed nor his ability to live a fulfilled life. It's conversations like this that put mindset, human spirit and life into perspective for me, as Beau and I talk about mindset, dealing with challenges, parenthood and inclusion...
