The Whispering Veil

This book introduces Lila, a young woman in a quiet town, who encounters a mysterious, ethereal boy named Theo linked to a haunting presence called the Whispering Veil and veiled ones. Their connection deepens despite Theo's warnings of danger from these entities tied to the sea and a tragic past involving a girl named Marianne. Lila discovers her mother had a similar fascination and perhaps fate with these forces, leading Lila to attempt a dangerous ritual to save Theo after she becomes marked by them. The story culminates in Lila entering the veil, a liminal space controlled by these beings, where sacrifices and enduring consequences unfold, leaving her forever changed and the mysteries unresolved.
