The Whole Gang is Back And There's Much To Discuss | Majority Rules

from Rock M Radio: A University of Missouri podcast · host FFSN

The entire Majority Rules & Olympic Sports staff has been reunited, and there's so much news to discuss. Quentin & Dylan start with a women's hoops discussion on the Tigers' last two games and what hope, if any, remains on this VERY tough upcoming schedule. Dylan shares some info about his recent piece, and the group gets into a lively discussion about a certain W player who was floated as a coaching replacement (warning- explicit language). Abigail is next with some enthusiastic track & field updates from the Tigers' performance at the Show Me Showdown and shares what she learned from her Splits Seconds interview with sprints coach Jordon Andreassen. So much going on in T&F right now, and we're excited to be able to check it out at Hearnes Fieldhouse this month! Rory shares swim & dive updates from Senior Weekend at Mizzou Aquatic Center, including some interesting/weird Friday events and then overall takes on Saturday's more normal meet against McKendree & Missouri State. Swimming is on hold til SECs at the end of February, but Diving, which is showing much improvement, will head to Colorado at the end of the month for another meet. Rory also shares some tennis updates, as the Tigers had a successful weekend on their home court against NIU and South Dakota.Karen is next with a SWOT analysis of Mizzou Gym at this point in the season, and explains the necessity for a 197 score and a more consistent overall performance than we've seen from the Tigers thus far. Also, they must discuss the athletic prowess of Helen Hu, who earned her first 10 on beam and leads the country in high scores (as does Jocelyn Moore on vault). Wrestling is up next, and things are looking up as the team has turned a corner with two wins this past week over Utah Valley and Arizona State. Matthew's got all the updates. Finally, the group winds down with some out of season sports news from Karen, who shares some softball schedule changes and discusses preseason player & team rankings, and Matthew updates the group on some now-former volleyball Tigers signing pro contracts and the promotion of Jhenna Gabriel to assistant coach. Make sure you stick with this one til the end, as Quentin, our resident "gymnast", is given a task for next episode, and a pre-emptive callout for a Go Fund Me to pay his impending medical debt.Subscribe to Rock M+ for access to Mizzou insider info, discussion boards, special live podcasts just for subscribers, and more! You can follow members of today’s show on Twitter @karensteger, @M_Gustafson27, and @dylanrheinrich.Have a question for one of our podcasts?
