This week's episode of Wild Card Podcast is brought to you by Nazis. Nazis, living, walking, breathing pieces of shit. Germany's worked very hard to dissociate their identity from Nazis. Why can't the United States do the same?
Let's poll the room about Nazis. Nazis are the scum of the Earth. Nazis will always lose. All together now.
FUCK YOU, Nazis! Welcome to the Wild Card Podcast. I'm your host, Jared Eaton, and my co-pilot on this journey to wherever. Are my good friends, Jeff Curtis?
How do you do, neighbor? And the one your mama warned you about? Ron Blair. You think you know me, you don't know me, you don't know my life.
You don't know it. I think I do, actually. I think I'm pretty aware of it. Yeah, I guess you do.
Of who you are. You probably know it. The general things you stand for. However, speaking of that accent, did you ever go to the Petler's Mall and listen to these old ladies speak?
Everyone over my life. Look, they have UK blanket now. And every time, it's like an icicle to my eye hearing that accent. I don't.
I hate the Petler's Mall. Not because of the South Daedtlers Mall. But because it smells like mothballs. I hate that smell in there.
I understand that. I've never been to the Petler's Mall. I've never been to the Petler's Mall. I've never been to the Petler's Mall.
Oh, it's wonderful. But you never hear him go, Let's look at the very chaotic, in the furniture section. I think Ron likes that accent. I enjoy doing that.
I like making fun of people who actually have that accent. I don't know what your next role is. You'd have to do that accent. I've never done that on stage either.
I'm certain that I've got an accent. It's not something anyone's ever pointed out to me. Unless I'm in a place that doesn't sound like that. So living in the county, they think I sound different because I don't have any sort of problem.
Right. You have to relax. But there's one word that really took me far too long to figure out. What's that?
When they would talk about how coded is outside. Code? I'm like trying to solve the temperature. I don't understand.
I don't understand. Or if they're 28 years old. I'm not trying to insult that. That's just not a fault.
It took me an embarrassing amount of time to understand what was happening. Yeah, I'm not the best. I'm the best time to figure out what they meant when people get to talk about crowns. Crowns.
Yeah, that drives me. In fact, at my house, there's a divide between crayons and crowns. Crowns? Yeah.
That's how you said you said crayons. Crowns? When I was a kid, we would go to Alabama to visit my great uncle and aunt. The ones who built Cracker Barrel after?
Yes, absolutely. Because Alabama, they were obviously wealthy people. No, they were old as dirt even when I was a child. My great uncle had actually fought in World War I and World War II in Korea.
He was fighting for all three years. He was fighting for four years. He was by himself. He killed Hitler by himself.
But there weren't a lot of neighborhoods. He's got them in here. He's dead now. So, Cap dies at the age of 96.
But they were all at 96. So I was a member of the Shield. There were some neighbor kids. I had just gotten into horror films at this point.
So I was around 11 or 12. And I used the word frightened around them. And they didn't understand it. And about two hours later, the youngest boy was maybe eight somewhere around there.
He jumped out from behind a bush and he said, I was trying to frighten you. And I was like, I don't, it took me three or four times to understand what frightened was. Frotten. I was like, I was like, I can't understand.
I was like, I can't understand it. I was like, I can't understand it. And still that inside of you. This is the same man at my uncle that there helps him.
I'm like, Ham, when you've got a friend bread. Yeah, it was lovely. They were good folks. Unless he knew that they could fight off the Nazi.
I always felt safe in her. So, we really enjoyed this opening portion of the podcast where we get to share a little of our talks. Before we get into the bullshit of learning. Exactly.
Everybody is doing everything. So, all these things that are coming of us who do what we need to do when we get into the podcast. They listen to me, they listen to us. They listen to the podcast, they feel like they're just sitting on a couch with us.
And I say, I'm sorry, you can feel these and hands on their bodies. I apologize, you're probably really close to a bunch of guys that were really awkward and unpleasant but I guess if that's what you're going for, here we are. And if you'll pull up the couch with us, we'd like to share a little of ourselves with you. So, in honor of Jeff's rant from last week, in honor of, being back to school time, I want to ask you a story about your favorite teacher.
Oh, man. He won't go for... He's got a positive, positive thing about school. I have the best teacher.
I have great teachers in school. And this is a little self-serving because I'm a teacher. And sometimes we just like to feel like, we do what we do for a reason. Right, I'm sure when Kayle listens to the podcast, we'll be like, well Jared, eat, and it's my favorite teacher.
He only had me for like three days. Yeah, so he hasn't learned that. He hasn't learned that anymore. That's right.
But we did have a fund down Friday. I hope you enjoyed that day. Is this college high school? Any teacher you had who said kind of positive impact or did something that made you remember them for a good reason, hopefully?
It's so difficult for me to pick a favorite in the first place. But in community college at ECTC, I had Katrina Eiger. She and I, when I was in high school, she and I were in Your Good Man, Charlie Brown together. She was Lucy to my Charlie Brown.
And so I spent the next few years studying intro with theater, just general acting under her. She's an excellent teacher, such a wonderful teacher. And this previous week, McKinsey's freshman year of college, she has a beside her. Oh, nice.
Yeah. And I had talked about her. I said, no, Katrina's great. You'll love her.
You'll learn so much. And McKinsey was like, do you think they'll remember you? Yeah. Yeah, every teacher you have is going to remember me.
McKinsey's sitting there in her classroom for Katrina Walkes in. Katrina takes two steps into the room and says, you're rumblers. You're a blare. You're a blare.
I sit up a layer in the room. I sit up a layer. Yeah. And then she showed a photo of us from when we did Your Good Man, Charlie Brown, like the overhead projector.
I think I was in that one. Isn't it such a fun show to do? It's so much fun. I had auditioned once after that in my late 20s and did not get the role I lost it to Josh Logsdon, who was phenomenal.
And it was also great in it. I can still give, and this was probably four or five years ago. I can still give the Linus model log from Peter Rabbit. Because I had to memorize it.
Peter Rabbit was tough. That was a hard part. I think Linus is part because so much was talking. That's true.
And I wanted to use this stuff. But being a nerd, it turns out not that much of a stretch. It's also the base of the show. Like very vocally.
It's the lowest vocal part. So it was perfect. It was like a nerd who was a bear-ton base. And the blanket of me is such a huge number.
It's such a great number. Yes. That's my favorite teacher was my fourth-rate teacher, Mrs. Cubby.
Cubby or Cubby? Cubby? Cubby, E-O-B-E-Y. And she was old then.
I think she retired after. But before I went into fourth-rate, I'd say her in the halls. And she always seemed like a very strict teacher. I don't want to be a Mrs.
Cubby class. I don't want to be a Mrs. Cubby class. I love being a Mrs.
Cubby class. And I don't remember why specifically, except that I enjoyed. She created that. She created that.
She created that. I mean, she was a disciplinary word. She kept. But she wasn't overpowering.
She wasn't unfairly. It wasn't unfairly. But because she was able to keep order, we were able to have fun and enjoy the classes. I loved her.
I've had other good teachers. And just so people who listened to last week's rant understand, my mother was a teacher. My grandmother was a teacher. My aunt is a teacher.
I've got many teachers in my family. Because I love teachers. I don't want anyone to think. Or my dad was a teacher.
And I'm anti-manlands teacher. I don't think that ever came across. I will say as an identity, when Jeff Anadam was a teacher, he punched me right in the face. So I don't know what he's saying right now.
But I don't think he was your teacher. I think he was my dumb-ass. That's what I'm thinking. So I love that you've been a college professor.
Jeff, he was with elementary school, my high school. I was running the edge. It was ninth grade for us. Which was ninth grade for us.
But when I was ninth grade for junior high, I was on the edge of high school. So his name was Mr. Hofmeister. Oh!
He was an integrated chemistry and physics teacher. So science. No, I'm fine. But we always joke.
He wasn't as old as he seemed. But we always joked that everyone arose from his coffin, forced to get to the end of it, and would have sent to class. But he was just one of those guys who even had his age had so much energy. And taught the content in such a fun way.
Because physics is not my science. I've never enjoyed it. I don't know why, but it does not reach me. But he taught it in such a way as we do.
When he was teaching momentum and forced, we'd be on skateboards. He would pull someone up as a demonstration and push them. When we did center of gravity, we stood on desks. And we'd have to balance.
And he would show us center of gravity from males and females. When we did electricity, he had this generator. He was like, oh, we've got to touch. And then when we connect our fingers, we'd feel it.
He'd feel it. He'd tilt through us. And I was the only one who embraces in the class. So I had to touch my teeth to it.
Oh! Oh, did it hurt? No. It wasn't like extreme pain.
But it was funny, the class, because every time I keep it close, you'd hear that. You hear that? That wasn't the sound. But the sound was the high pitch energy.
As you close, I kept backing off. The pain I anticipated was so much worse than it actually was. But another thing I love about Mr. Hoffman is we always have to go to these almost like PSA assemblies.
You know, when you go on and be like, don't be a drill at this kid. It's not that full. You'll be like, sure. You know those same guys smoke weed after this.
Oh, right. That's what we do. It's like we as kids, we're like, whatever. We know what's best.
And we'd be like, no, you guys. I know you don't care what they say. But then he'd give us a hard-to-heart talk. And we'd be like, man, this guy, he sincerely cares about us.
I love teachers where you can see the passion and the joy in teaching. It's not just the job where you get summers off. And I know some teachers do that. And that's fine.
The students know the heart. If the teacher is there, because they're teaching or if the teacher is there because it's a relatively easy picture. Now, I would argue it's not that he's a picture in terms of what you're going through each day if you go and enjoy this job. It's so much work as well.
And I watched my father do it for 30 years in the dining room every night, you know, grading papers. Or if he was absent. Not only if you're absent, you have to leave all these specific subplants. But then if you come back in the next day, it was like, what would were eight happen in your room?
You're trying to pick up the pieces. No, I mean him being absent from my life. Like a basketball. Not that he was a bad dad.
He wasn't. He was busy. His teaching takes a lot more time than non-teacher folk think. If you've never had a teacher in your family.
You don't know. We do get the summers off with what we exception of PDAs. We go in. But on weekends we're so accessible via email.
When those bell rings, emails have to be able to reach out to time. I don't know. My cell phone numbers. Some teachers do.
No, thanks. We have the parents of basketball players would call our house all the time. He had to be accessible to these people. And not just as a teacher, but as a, I don't want to say the word buddy.
He wasn't any good buddy. But to provide guidance to these people. Always. And it never ended until he retired.
And then even a few years after that, she would still contact him over this and that. It doesn't stop. Well, if you guys are interested in sharing your favorite teacher with us, you can be comments on YouTube or Facebook. We love it.
To hear feedback about your thoughts. Absolutely. We do. Today's episode as we go into our time of learning is Ron.
Thank you. Jeff Curtis is steering the ship today. So we're safe. He's preparing the time that we know that he's probably going to get frustrated as Ron.
I just came to talk. Interject nonsense. I'm not trying to back off because people get so upset with us. Not knowledgeable.
If we didn't, they'd be like, oh, that's dumb. No, this is me. This is all. All these things that you are.
Jeff always tells you this. He has good adventure stories. Is it adventurous today? Oh, I've got a treat for the two.
I love it. He's actually heading to his horseman treats. It's a popcorn ball. It's almost autumn.
The two of you are in for such a lovely experience that you are going to think that this was the greatest episode ever. There's pink and blue. Do you have a question for us? I'll be just going right into it.
I'm a question. What's happening right now? What pops into your head when I say in between the lines there's a lot of people. Oh!
I'm not blind. I'm very blind to maturity. Between the lines there's a lot of obscurity. Oh, it's sighted.
The wild cards are getting psyched. Oh, my daughter turned me onto the show. Oh, this is how I turned me on. Yeah, it's so funny.
Tell by your reaction that it didn't even consider yourself to be psyched. Psych and recom bitter. It's like an agent. That's the only word in it.
Psych and recom bitter. They had a name for their fans but psycho. My day is completely changed. My nipple has got hair and hair is standing up on my back and there's a lot of hair.
I'm rubbing the hair on his back and feeling his nipples right now. So instead of the usual me spinning a yard, we're going to ask some questions. We're going to do some favorites. We're going to go and run it up now.
I'm basically going to run it up. The funny thing is I just hold you guys that I actually have a report for my next. My next one I have printed materials. I'm going to be more bookish and Jeff is taking a crap.
By the way, is that theme song Steve Frank's? Steve Frank's. I'm not familiar with him, but any time it plays in our house we go, wait a minute. I know that's all.
You don't know Steve Frank's? No, no. Jared, can you say who Steve Frank is? Please.
I don't know if I see the writer or producer. I know he's involved in the movie. He created it. Sorry.
Oh, he created it. The creator's like, and it is bad. His name is L.A. He goes, what is it?
L.A. I didn't know he created it though. I thought that was James Rody. He sort of had a hand at creating a note.
He became a producer of a time. I don't think he was one of those. No, he wasn't. No, I didn't know that.
Steve Frank's. Bless your heart. It's not Steve Frank's been several years trying to sell the idea. I can imagine why that would be tough to sell.
It would. If somebody tells you the idea of Mike, when Kenzie first told me I was like, yeah, that sounds OK. She's like, Gordon Burnson's in it. I'm like, yeah, like Gordon Burnson's just fine.
But there was nothing, you know, Maggie Lawson from Kentucky. I used to watch her on the kids club. I was the new kids club. Oh, really?
Really? She was a hot deal back in the early years. Yeah. Yeah.
She's a big deal. Yeah. Well, you know, five years ago, more so. But I love and respect her.
I always have. She's great. She was great on the kids club. She was the one kid where you were like, I can't wait to watch this kid today.
I just want to tell him. What I said was that what a marvelous gift into the old . Oh, yeah? Well, I watch Mike before I saw the West Wing.
Oh, so I never see him as well. He's so good in West Wing. Yeah, and it's a totally different character than he thought. That's kind of me.
Too much I don't wanna go watch it just as soon. Oh, absolutely. He's more dramatic in that one. He starts watching.
He starts watching later in that one, too. Is he a teen-out? He was an intern. Well, it seems like a teen-out guy.
I don't know if he was actually kind of around that. He was wearing a gan. He was a gifted dancer, too. I've heard that.
He's a lovely, yeah, so let's go. There was a tap dance in the episode. Hill was going to be in Psycho. I was expecting him to be the lead.
Not the... Yeah, but he was kind of a lead. He was one of the two leads by James Rodey. But the duo was right there.
I do think before we get too far in this, we've left a lot of people behind. Because if they haven't seen Psycho, we're just spitting out. Oh yeah, we're throwing out a lot of names. And a lot of names people probably have heard from other things.
Because I didn't know James Rodey was right. I didn't know anyone, but maybe Corbin Burns and before. Corbin Burns and was their one name. Yeah, like the name of mine.
And he had one of the smallest parts. He had to show up, but he was showing up and had the coolest scene. Right, yeah, he was such a great character. James Rodey had a line in Beer Best.
And they were bringing a guest. And that was a big selling point for Psych, because they were so brilliantly used. And he's definitely like the clue episode. Or the love for Cheers for Fears.
And bringing Kurt Smith in. I'm so embarrassed right now. His name is Illudy Me. Kurt Smith, I think plays Woody.
Oh, I thought you were right about Kurt Smith. Kurt Smith plays Chris. Well, Kurt, let's see. Who plays with it?
That's one of my questions. And I love Woody's another one. It was Kurt Fuller played with it. Kurt Fuller played with it.
Kurt Smith was. Yeah, and he wrote one of their variations of things. That's right. I didn't even know how much I loved Cheers for Fears until Psych.
And then my heart went, oh, I love these songs. The nostalgia of it. Oh, I did love Cheers for Fears back then. What was it about Psych that drew the two of you into loving the show?
So I was on from the beginning. Like I bought episodes on iTunes because I couldn't watch them live. So starting in season one, I was buying one episode at a time because I watched the pilot. And I was just watching Monk at the time on USA.
So I was already invested in the USA. Right. Right. Absolutely.
Absolutely. I'm 24th grader. And I've ever seen a preview of what Psych wasn't thinking that is insane. Yeah.
Like because the synopsis of the show is there's this character who has been trained from his youth by his cop father to be the perfect detective. Right. Super observant. To hyper observant.
To notice every detail, close his eyes and remember what everyone looks like where they're saying how many hats are in the room. Yeah. And so he would call in tips from the things he saw on TV and be like, oh, by the way, you're going to be this person. They're the one who committed the robbery.
Right. That was the first time I got involved. And so he went to the police station and they're trying to understand how he knew all these details of his crimes. They assumed he was a criminal.
So he made up the story of being a psychic detective. And so he had to solve a case for them as a psychic detective and then he and his best friend opened a psychic detective agency in which almost like Phil Newar style, someone would come to him. And he would solve their case with help with the cops. Just the sense of humor was unlike anything I sent to me for.
It just felt like dudes. Yeah. I just felt like I knew these guys. I hung out with them regularly.
I adopted so much of their city humor into my own. Yes. Absolutely. I just stole so much of it because none of my friends watched it.
They didn't know that these funny things I was doing. They just thought you were cool. Yeah. I'm hot.
No. No. No. Yeah.
Mackenzie had kept trying to get me to watch it. She's like, you would love to show so much. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. That was a award winner gone. Ann Potter.
I watchedREM Saturday, recently we were making a money to building new presents at Fisher Park. I watched every episode or all the seasons and then Manlan was started watching the last seasons with me and then she got hooked and so when we got Netflix She started watching it from the first all the way through and just before she got the last couple episodes They took it off in Netflix and she is still angry She has a teen out of the series Oh no, I can't remember myself They moved, they moved, they moved, they moved Because Maggie was offered a chief job She got a job and went to come over there and that was LA or San Francisco, San Francisco, yeah But I've got I had for the longest time I get from one of my uncles was I'm just like a cyberbhelia So I have a cyclo bowl, I have a Burton Guster pharmaceutical So I have a used to, I got a torrent, I had a like a spongy plush pineapple There's a pineapple in every episode and I have not spotted it I was a very good, honest So some of them like you can wear the job as they have pineapple, it's on them, or things like that Well, the pineapple started as an accident Did you know that? No, the pineapple started because James wrote Dan picked up a pineapple and And this was at living cutting it up and taking off our snack when he was at Duley Hills apartment And that's the capital Are you done with the delicious labor? Yes, and so the first couple seasons the pineapple wasn't there on purpose But it kept showing up in all these episodes and so in the third season they made a thing of it Yeah, hiding one of it That's really really real, I keep people watching every week You know what the show kind of reminds me of almost an adult version of Scooby-Doo Because it's got that detective that ensemble cast, it's got the humor Pickin' up the mystery, yeah I've always loved those detective shows when we see a scientist in the lottery I like that mystery one of the songs was not like a matter of it I can say going to forensic science for a long time for a lot of biology And so psych was something where it had that but it was just so enjoyable to watch Because criminal minds is not that enjoyable, I watch it because it's It's terrifying though I saw the one with Adrian Barbeau And it was scary, it's the rednecks of the barn Oh yeah, I don't watch it It's a Matthew Gray Googler ended up directing many episodes later on From what I understand I had a big ambulance But it's not, I like the characters I like the mystery, I like some of the darkness But it's just not pleasant whereas psych is just such a prop Yeah, it's such a fun show You know what show inspired psych?
What show inspired you to want to make psych? No, moonlighting Moonlighting was my favorite show of all time Oh, Willis and Civil Shepard Well, that's where... That's where... Yes, and that was thrilling to watch her make that appearance And being such an enormous Bruce Willis fan, anyway, moonlighting was the show That I ended up, I happened upon it at the age of 13 And Bruce Willis became the epitome of cool There was nobody cooler than David Adams Well, it had that same kind of flow of the way the characters interact and talk as psych And that's the whole kind of...
And moonlighting also ended up developing this ensemble as well with Miss Capasso And Curtis Armstrong scared to Bert later on I think second season But it had these familiar faces that you loved And there was always this bit of danger near the end of the episode A lot like psych where it stops being funny and it becomes real And they actually pull a gun on you You know, it's that same kind of thing Oh, I love moonlighting so much I've never seen all the episodes of moonlighting But I always loved it whenever I would catch an episode of moonlighting The writing and Bruce Willis Yeah, well that's what made Bruce Willis as far as it absolutely Now, my correct was every member of the Breakfast Club in psych Was anyone not? Well, it was a really... That's the one I was missing That's the one I was missing That's the one I was... I think she was a bit of nurse and she played her as a whole And I know Anthony Michael Wallace And he said so I don't know if anyone else was Yeah, I don't know if anyone else was I don't think anyone was I think he was He was the one who was...
There was so many homages to like 80s fuck culture And then like the people who were like, you know, had those moments And it was brought back Yeah, well I always felt like, oh the writers watched the same things I did as a child They loved the same things I did when I was a pre-team Now they look up to you know that's just a second Yeah, we're all okay I do not believe people... I don't think it was I've got a list of all their... He was right in front of her But Alex Sheehy on that's so great She was a recurring character Yes, well do you remember who her recurring character was? Mr.
Yang That's right, that's right, oh she was amazing And evening with Mr. Yang was the first episode she was in a great one In fact my son and I were watching Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter the other day And the guy that plays Mary pops up and I went, oh that's Mary Well actually Kayla did and I went, oh you're right It was a show on sci-fi that I watched for a couple of years I didn't really even call Breakout Kings And the only reason I even gave a shot was because he was like He's awesome, I had seen him and it's always funny What a crazy character he was so... So kooky Every once in a while I shake hands with my kids The same way he did, yes, the same way he did And she and just up and down Oh it's so funny Our listeners are probably still lost I've never seen this I've never seen this I'm having a blast I'm having a blast I'm having a blast Yeah, I love Psy And if you've not seen it, I'm sure it's available somewhere It's not on Netflix, right? It's not on ION TV It's on ION TV, right?
It's running in my soul It's always there I'll tell you about it Alright, do you know how many seasons of Psyche there were? Six, eight, eight seasons You saw me on Psyche Toward the end, I pulled out a little bit Well as with most shows, once again You can tell when it's starting to run it's cool It's starting to recycle things and it doesn't have that excitement to it And they were so good at being clever That I think near the end, what do you do? Their scripts were so cool, so innovative and tight What do you do after a while? In the eighth season they were USA contracted with them to make eight episodes And then they contracted for another two There was a poll that was put out Because they took which episode would be filmed So they wrote five more episodes And they let the fans pick which two of those They were going to film I voted on that, I don't think I got the one that they didn't do the one that they did So they ended up being ten episodes that season Which was shorter than the other season Most of the season had 16 episodes That's what I was thinking of somewhere around there I know, but the movie has been announced The movie is supposed to be I was going to bring it up, but do you see me?
He's going to bring it up, but do you see me? The only thing that I heard is not it will make us He's going to have a brief appearance But you know why? Is it because of Galavan? No, he had a stroke No, I did hear about that He's recovered mostly from that stroke But he had a stroke and so he was too sick to film He's so young, though, he seems like my age Like mid-40s or so He was so young, as a character changed so much Of course, that show And his humor was so perfect He was so proud of it He was as silly as they were It just took a while for that to become apparent Right, right Because in the first episode of the couple he was so stoic But that's the thing, he carried himself so stoicly proud But you got to understand that he was the good Because there'd be like, sometimes the closing cars would be behind the scenes or bloopers And he was so regularly him He was great Well he's also one of the most accomplished actors of all of them that were in the show I don't know him from much else Galavans And he was in a great episode of Criminal Minds He was that guy Well, he's done a lot of guest stars and a lot of things But he was Yeah, Galavans did 18 episodes of that So funny not to Psyche was in all of their episodes Let's see, there's...
I have a whole list here, but I watched the Chief pop up every once in a while I've only played the Chief and she's just great Is that her name? No, it's Kirsten It's Kirsten Nelson It's Kirsten Nelson Mackenzie and I saw her in a movie Within the past year, I can't remember what the movie was But we got so excited to see her And it was a departure from the Chief Any time you see an actor make this departure Oh, it's beautiful and she was breathtaking in whatever film it was I can't remember In the pilot Okay Alright, how many hats were there in the restaurant? Six That is correct But one walked out One walked out Which is why the father You're saying he was wrong, he said no He said no, there was seven friends One of them was about mustache rides? Yeah, mustache rides Very good Very good Alright How many episodes of Psyche were there?
Oh gosh There were One hundred and eighty-six So there were eight episodes, I'm 16, so that would be I'm gonna go 123 Close, 121 Wow, good, good on that I didn't use math, that would be I kind of just did eight-sixteen and then did actually figure it out I did eight times ten And then plus eight times six, what would that mean? Do you know what year did Psyche begin? That would be 2006 That's right I'll just say five, okay, 2006 So it ended when? That would make it 2013 Yeah, 2013 No, 2014 Yeah, 2010 It ended on 1980 It ended on Friday July 7th 2006 following Monk, which it followed until Monk went off the air That was a good couple of times That was a good couple of times That was Friday That was Friday That's why fewer babies are born Because Psyche and Monk people were watching them on Sunday nights What was Us is real name Bert and Gutter His name after his uncle Bert and What was Sean doing when we first met him?
He was with a girl in the couch Oh, yes He was watching the TV The news He saw this jewelry store owner Being interviewed by the cops And he saw something on the TV That was his hand That was his hand looking really guilty Yeah, Henry must have been super cop He must have been the greatest cop in the world You see moments of him with flashbacks He was having a flashback at the end of the episode That was something when Sean was young That would pay off as an adult And it was almost always his dad was the cop Speaking of cast members, though You know who's really gaining steam as a performer right now Young Sean Skyler, Gizondo Is all about the big young show The other guy that's on the one that I eat I think he was the first one He was on the one that I'm not 100% sure These are three, one, three or four But I've seen him in vacation Went hot American Summer And he's a standout performer He has a great role in everything That I've seen him in since psych So, good use guy It was fun to even kind of capture the Funness between young Sean and young Gosson's and most questions Yeah, I love that I love watching the relationship bill Speaking of Gus, what was his job? Pharmaceuticals open, yeah In the blueberry He's a blueberry I'm in the blueberry I'm in the blueberry I'm in the blueberry I'm in the blueberry I'm in the blueberry I'm in the blueberry I'm just sucked out Jesus, what was Joel's real name or full name? Julie Neumar No, she played Catwoman though Not not magnum, I believe you guys don't know this I'm not looking for her afters name I don't know I don't know I got nothing Julie Edo here Oh, I feel so dumb right now I can tell you I can tell you when we met her Oh, do that my next question It was in a bar Sean was trying to pick her up while she was there on a sting And so he's like No, he's like Not noticing all these things about her like the cat hair on her She's doing a cross-repunzel and he's not having any of it And then she's basically who's my going full to go on a guy Because he figured out she's an detective By the way, she's like I'm here full again before I have you It wasn't until a few episodes because in the very first episode last in a different part Sean figured out they were like a thing and called an out on it because I think during Sean's interrogation he walked behind his partner like Mr. Hair That's right He saw it on the reflections and they're parked out in her and she left the department You remember who that actress was I know her from House I don't know the actress I know her from House and she was in the first of the first of the month I didn't know the actress's name That's one of my questions and I'm not in a moment We're really giving you a hard time because he'll be like asked one question and we'll go like three or four We'll answer several questions and some people are giving me pages of work he's done because as you would expect Ron I'm ruining everything You could have thought it would be so easy if that's going to be one question and then another because we don't do that We don't do it the easy We don't play the roles that's ridiculous We're the wild cards Anyway, I'll give you that answer If I ever see it Great, she was only in the first episode, the pilot Jules showed up in the episode So what was up to do is because they did the pilot as with most shows there's a distance between the pilot and so I can see and I can see I can find out why his partner was whether but she was written out whether because she was busy doing something else and then he decided to replace her but it shows you why Lassie is so nasty during the earlier episodes Well yeah, a lot of that was he believed that Sean was doing this service to police work and Lassie was all about police work and doing it by the rules and Sean was very against You didn't say nothing about it Well, the actress's name is Ann Judic and she played Lucinda Barry I would not have recognized that's very absurd The thing I know her from those was the first few seasons of what was that CIA show on USA?
Corporate Affair? Corporate Affair. She's the over-hister. Oh, you're right.
You're right. You're the over-hister. Nice. Yeah.
Good stuff. Did you guys ever watch House TV show? No. I've seen maybe an episode.
But there's a character in Wilson. She was like his love interest until she was one of us passing away. Oh, well I was going to watch House TV show. Too late.
Well, all right. That's fine. Sorry, dude. I hate really anything that Jeff has prepared.
Sean called out that because he was doing these dance steps in a room. Oh, wow. Yes. When he was married because he was practicing his dance.
Yeah. Well, Buzz is the only uniformed officer that's in every season. Is he in every episode? He's not in every episode, but he's in every season.
And he's in multiple episodes in every season. Well, I love it when he actually has it. Either by accident or whatnot actually has a part in the show. Because he's so inept.
Yeah. But there's some reason they're small bits, but you just love seeing him. He's a wonderful character. Yeah, they're the actor who ever plays someone who's a great guy.
And the little artwork he got fired, I think. Oh, yeah. He was injured in a bomb that someone had set off. And he was using past it for a while with that.
And then there's an episode in the first season called Nine Lives, where there's this catch on his pretending as sitting in sight of signal from the deceased owner. And he ends up giving that catch of Buzz. That's the end of the episode. Yes.
I do have Buzz with NAB's actor. Yeah. That's the name I will remember when you say that one. It sounded familiar.
I couldn't picture who it was. And mind you, it's been a good four or five years since I've seen. Yeah, I started season one again to go through. I think I'm going through probably part of season three before I stopped again.
We've watched dual spires repeatedly. The Twin Peaks episode? They're going for a cinnamon festival? I think a cinnamon festival.
Yes, they're going to have a Cheeros or Sage Brocklebank. Sage Brocklebank. Do you have his filmography or anything? No.
I'm curious whether he's... I feel like I've seen him in one other thing, but not much. I don't think he's done very many other things that I've seen. Well, I'll say you should.
Yeah, that happens. I'll say you come down here. We'll put you to work, Sage. All right.
What season did they start doing alternative versions of the theme song? I think it was Christmas count. Yes. I was in season two.
Season two episode 10, the Christmas version. Okay. Because I can age one, was they did it. Do it.
Poly wood? Yeah. I think Poly wood homicide, I think, was the name of that episode. One with first men, actually part of the story.
Two with boys to men. Yeah. That's right. Oh, Keenum Thompson was the way he was over.
Yeah. There were a couple of characters that went in and out of those quartets from his barbershop days. Yeah, I think Keenum was only in one episode. I think he was in two.
Was he in two? I think the other guy was only in the first one. Oh, okay. The other guy was the other guy.
It was Foul House. It was Steve Merkel. Oh, that's right. That's right.
I don't forget the actors name who played Steve Merkel. Oh, he was in the first... He was in the first. He nailed it.
I know. He was the actor. They were in the first one. The first...
I feel like I should know the name of the episode. I know that Sean kept trying to kick quarter black is what he wanted to call that. Because he wanted to be one white guy. Right.
Quarter black. Well, the Christmas theme was used in Gus's dad made killing the guy. It was used again in Christmas joy. That's the one where they had to stay Santa Claus who went up in the cup of beef.
And the polarizing express. That was the one where there was a polar bear. And Gus's dad, he had two different things. Yeah, his mom was consistent.
Oh, Winston Zidmore. Who's Winston Zidmore from Ghostbusters? Ernie Hudson. I think it's David and David Keith confused.
One of them is a white guy who killed himself. David Kerry didn't bother to tell him real life, not an officer and a gentleman. I think it's David Keith. And we've got a sister and Sean just goes down there since she's...
Right. David Keith is a white guy. Then it's Keith David. He was from the thing.
The guy, the child, from the thing, wins it. I thought he was one of the dads. I think the other couple. And Felicia Rashad was the mom.
Yeah. She was... I think she was right. She was a red child.
I thought so. I don't know. I could be. I don't know.
Which I often don't. So, take that for what it's worth. I'll look it up if we get a chance, but anyway, the Spanish version was... Yeah.
That was the episode where they were on the soap opera. Yes. Yeah. The Spanish on the lip camera on the studio.
That's right. And no country for to old men. That one is not coming to mind for me. The episode has been on the lip so because the, the first few seasons, I'm like, I can tell you whose episode is...
No. I believe it's later on. I'm not as strong. I believe no country for to old men is when Jules' father takes Henry to Mexico.
Oh, Ok. Oh, Jules' father. Okay High top four fade out and it was used again and let's do what they do Own a lot of episodes yeah Kurt Smith appears for fears get started Sean 2.0 And because there was another detective who was played by a famous actor's name at the moment He was on I think suddenly Susan the actor was But he played a detective who was just as good Sean's a profiler Oh, yeah, he like bought Kurt Smith I like the acoustic version of that's beautiful Okay, like begging to like play something else Julie Cruz recorded the slower extended version of the team where the twins peaks inspired episode. Yeah, yeah, super hero The inversion was recorded for the amazing site and magic head Man and tap man tag it magic head was a different episode and for the episode here's last See the song and a title were given a theme similar to the shiny because he goes crazy all that's right He gets a new apartment he goes crazy because his neighbors like trying to make him go insane And that's very scooby-dewish, isn't it?
Yeah, so there were two versions of the regular thing song I'm sure they said right. Can you what with the difference between the short and one and the extended one? One I'm just gonna the first All right, we can sing the whole extended version I don't think the same version I can do the short version in between the lines. There's a lot of obscurity I'm not inclined to resign to maturity if it's all right, then you're all wrong But why bounce around to the same damn song you'd rather run when you can't crawl.
I know you know that I'm not telling the truth I know you know they just don't have any proof of raise the deception learn how to bend your worst inhibitions to psych you out in the end And it draws out with I know you know very good I may have watched a couple episodes of psych in my day. You may have I'm telling you five years I could have kept up with you. Yeah, but not not now I've forgotten so much and I would love to pretend like I watched it last week It's not just my brain fraternity right? It's one of your ringtones I would love to have a cycling now that I think about I do love how over the course of seasons there There are other offices change so much.
There's only good things that are just in their office Did you know that there are six novels like novels that I don't know at least one of them what was what I don't off time I had because I own several USA novels like I don't know a couple burn notes novels I don't know several monk novels I only one psych one if you say the name I might recognize it well, there's two different authors Do you remember the name of the author if you give me the names? Okay, there's William Revkin wrote five and Chad Gerwick I was gonna say William Revkin There is a mind is a terrible thing to read No mind over magic. That's it. I don't know at least I'm I don't a second one I'll bring him the next time to show you because it's the call of the mile actually that sounds way to I I don't think I may have just seen him for him actually a fatal frame of mind I don't know mind altering murder.
Okay, then Chad Gerwick wrote psych sky to crime That's not a novel that's like a silly thing about how it's like from the characters perspective Yeah, it's more like an episode, but it's like you're in their heads. I just for a second layer I got my number of magic and the one you said before that I think I'm both called maybe called a mild maybe those two and I on the psych guy too when you said mine over magic I was like oh Barry Boston because in that episode that that was supernatural It was it was about There was another there was another actor in it who I love and I can't remember his name He passed away last year, but he was he'd been in several things He was in the movie all of me was Steve Martin Lillie Tomlin. He was the guru that You know did the transfer into souls and I can't remember his name, but he was brilliant When Jules moves to San Francisco why does Jules move to San Francisco? She was offered a job like chief big chief big chief She offered her job is head to tech And the last he takes over his chief of their that's right and why did she take a job in San Francisco?
That's my answer she was she forced out she was forced out okay. Is it the Anthony Michael Halk? Yeah, he was in the least a season half or so he was in there a lot what a douche bag They need some real fun of him. There was some great moments where I was just like blast on the exchange He's like ringtone and ordering all these different things his character's name was Harris trout Right, he was a special consultant hired by the mayor to increase efficiency at the S BPD Right, he first appears in no child about it The season 7 finale as a result of his findings He's a spent's chief fix for six months.
He most last there is head detectives fired McNamp or moonlighting as a stripper And says no longer higher guys than Sean for any cases But is that now that point time is Henry still working in the police? He came back Okay, okay, the last year he had to step down. Yeah, he may have I don't remember. Yeah, I don't either Anyway, but oh the last day's his life in sees the day does not give last or any Anything for it in the next episode of the season though That's their Juliet Sean and does work together to catch a bad guy now to him against all odds trout fires Lasseter and Juliet reef fires doesn't Sean and is Brilliant Did a bad bad thing where there's a criminal brought in and the lights go out and they shot everyone Did it but it's actually this other thing great great thing What's this nose known With a strong use of sometimes like to track girls or detect like since in the air you can use to Absolutely, let me stop you guys right there because this is I've got I've got to get this out I didn't even want to run up.
It's gonna be a change I know here is totally and it's gonna I was watching this like regularly. I was like, it's a great show and I would just tell everybody about it, but I Have to address the events last week You know the violence in Charlottesville and then after that Watching certain Facebook posts we talked about this a little before the episode pre-show and I'm not gonna name any names or anything like that But it's really disheartening when you see people show their true colors after that And I don't know if it's them saying well I voted for Trump does that make me a Nazi or make me more on or anything because we have been pretty ugly towards the Nazis I wonder what they might have done to deserve fucking our you know are being nasty to them, but there was one I'd also like to say fuck the KKK. Yeah, I'm like Nationalist my supremacists here all of those guys they're all in the same group all right in there too because fuck those guys and they're They're ugly little attitudes, but I saw one post in particular that really it really got to me And it was one of these what's the equalizing thing that they keep doing like a I can't remember the name for it because it's Equidicy yeah, it's pretty much saying that both sides are responsible for it, which is the most ludicrous fucking thing I've ever heard Because you know one was just born the way they were and the other ones hated them I see no a typical thing right there, but they're not equal at all We do not hate people who have different views than us on things like necessarily politics or economy now You can be conservative and be an amazing person and that's fine And I always say we can be pals even though we are only going after those who are dicks the human beings Right, that's exactly it. So when I see some and it's somebody from work that I see on occasion And it really upset me because how can I not go to work tomorrow and go you go fuck yourself?
You know right there in the break room, but this person had said they tried to make the thing of if not all Muslims Are responsible for the the actions of one Muslim right then why should all? You know all the people who stand beside Trump be seen the way they are How can people who voted for Trump be seen as racist? I'll give you the answer right now because you knew When he was elected you knew he was a fucking racist and had been in the newspaper You may have heard that he was a racist Tell me that some fucking Muslim a thousand miles away from where the the terrorist actions are happening where extremists live No, he had no idea, but you you motherfuckers who voted for Trump you knew good goddamn. Well, then he hated homosexuals You knew the hated most of the races you knew when you voted for most of them That's why they voted for that's exactly why and they still move probably give you a good business Boo or do to make you work educated enough to realize he isn't a good business I'm glad to be a good guy to Hillary and voted for Trump And that's fine, but you know what admit you're wrong be an adult and admit you're wrong It's most people over the age of 40 and 50 that I've seen saying oh, you know Don't don't because I voted for Trump.
It's not fair to judge me. Yes. It fucking is because you knew who he was and what he was when you voted You're responsible So don't think that crap about you know don't defend the man right now the man is a racist And he should be impeached and he should be kicked out and you got damn well knew who he was We voted for tell me that he shouldn't represent you. He does What's that?
