The Winner of the 2020 Election: Drug Legalization

The 2020 election was notable for a lot of reasons, but one winner really stood out: drug legalization. Five states legalized either medicinal or adult use of marijuana. Oregon and D.C. went even further and decriminalized or legalized hard drugs. And the momentum garnered from these cross-country wins helped push the MORE Act through the House in recent weeks. If enacted, this legislation would end the federal prohibition of marijuana. After decades of fighting to undo the damage done by the War on Drugs, could this be a tipping point?
