At least two soldiers were killed during the attack.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: This is a developing situation, and most details are still unconfirmed. The assailant reportedly initiated the ambush by approaching the soldiers and engaging them from extremely close range. As per a post made by President Trump on social media, the shooter was also wounded severely during the attack, and did not escape as indicated by initial reports. No description of the shooter has been provided yet, however locals visually observed a person who is assessed to be the shooter being handcuffed and loaded into an ambulance.It is not clear as to how the shooter became wounded, or if the soldiers engaged the assailant during the attack. The soldiers were wearing body armor in accordance with procedure, however one soldier suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
