The Wisdom of Clowning

This episode of Mythic Mel features an interview with the wonderful clown, entertainer and artist Alexandre (Alex) Pavlata. You might be surprised to discover how intelligent, spiritual, courageous, compassionate and humanitarian is the spirit of the clown. Alex shares his wisdom behind the art of clowning, highlighting themes of courage, vulnerability, compassion, freedom of mind, and laughter.  He shares some of the exercises he teaches in his clowning workshops, gives some pointers on how you might access your inner clown, and why it matters to carry the spirit of clown energy in your heart now more than ever.Alex is a French clown whose family legacy in circus goes back over 8 generations. He comes from a Czech circus family who fled the Russian invasion of Prague in 1968. His first appearance in the magic ring was in the Big Apple Circus when he was just five years old, where his father Sacha Pavlata was performing in the early 1980s.
