(Uncle Henry has a long beard in the book and both he and Em are gray and dour, no laughter) toto whimpering! never heard it before Elmyra Gulch for 23 years ive been dying to tell you what i thought of you and now, well, being a christian woman i cant say it Totos a sneaker you came back! good reason to run away does this mean that Toto's to blame for this entire mess? or Dorothy for letting him in the garden? this part is kind of dull visually but the banter is good no one would ever leave their tray of food down near where a loose dog could get it. sheer madness i like how the branches are moving out the door winds pickin up!! a whopper! to speak in the language of the peasantry! that model looks amazing the twister always scares the shit out of me you can tell Judy Garland is a stage actor dancer type and not a farmgirl, yankin on the cellar door limply (in the book the cellar door is inside the house) i just yelled get away from the window! even though ive seen this fifteen times cart tree chickens knitting lady shes dead cow dead two guys rowing dead Miss Gulch! oh shit shes a witc this song is so scary i forget how scary the music is when watching it with an album oh! cute utterance amid total silence toto in full color is even cuter Munchkin village really could be a theme park area (in book Munchkins are Dorothy's height, i think they aged Dorothy up for the film) Toto, I have a feelling were not in Kansas anymore oh this bitch Glenda the good witch (from the book - pic at bottom of notes) (in book a Munchkin suggests she go to the wizard. doesnt explain why she cant go but plants a protective kiss on her) i need you to wage war on this other witch ONLY BAD WITCHES ARE UGLY shes gone where the goblins go its funny how they try to make the kids look older with wildass makeup Glinda is on valium for sure smiling through the death chat dude is swinging his sword around in the middle of this melee ok what these people are tiny yet their doors still dont fit them lullaby league has super squeaky song wicked witch of the east seems so goofy where are the slippers? Glinda is such a shit stirrer the witchs exit is so dramatic what a smell of sulfur she doesnt seem all that surprised to find out Oz also has trouble Glinda you vile shit stirrer - dont take off those slippers! Glinda's slippers must rule if she doesnt even try to take the ruby ones it seems like the edits last long as Toto stays on task - i wonder how many takes he ruined bet Garland was having to feed him treats anytime the camera came on (theres a ton of eating in the books but not in the film) why scary music for Scarecrow? brown nose?  (in the book everyone in the East wears blue, even the scarecrow) i could while away the hours pickin wild flowers individal! shes really good at gassing up her homeys how do you follow the ybr if it splits four ways? uh oh witch be right here? wild. why doesnt she just kill her right here? why its a man! oil can! rusting rain! did this paint give him cancer? who sang that lady part? fucking weird WHEREFORE ART THOU ROMEO? wtf i cant remember a time this has ever happened in cinema - possibly a Mel Brooks? can he throw his voice? i need to know the extent of the tin mans powers toto loves him the toot toot spooked Toto what are D and SC whisperin about? oh takin him with them to the wizard witch cacklin on the roof? wanna play ball?!!! this woman just tried to ignite poor SC oh yeah its lion time lions and tigers and bears oh my whats wrong with you teachin em? Dorothy just slapped him on the face! (in the book Lion asks what Toto is made of and Dorothy says hes a meat dog!) afraid of sheep! without the vim and voive! if the wizard is a wizard who will serve (id love it if the lion was a literal lion like in the book, though who will ever redo the Wizard of Oz?) gorgeous matte painting at the end of wizard of oz song - i want it as a mural witchypoo is doing something dastardly (in the book the witch doesnt make the poppies appear!) poppies will put them to sleep! get high people  sc and tm dont breathe so theyre fine (itb they leave Lion in the field! theres this whole section where the queen of mice and her subjects help rescue Lion) (itb Lion talks like a dnd paladin) i have this strange memory of wearing a Lion costume and playing TCL, but surely not cuz i dont remember anything else about it snow neutralizes poppy poison? but then rusts poor TM "somebody always helps that girl" well bust my buttons! lookat these green motherfuckers velvet tophat! oh no its the king of the forest song yeah i dont like this guys shtick tm just broke a pot to do a bit? chaos why the huh at the end? dont cry dorothy! door guy had an Aunt Em once? bizarre the green cathedral hall is real spooky Toto! boveen fodder damn wiz really is ordering them to their deaths lion leaps through a window with no apparent injury wrench net gas and gun those owls are the worst thing in the movie wait maybe the vultures are worse that flying monkey should use the slippers, take control homey too many monkeys Toto! i bet those monkeys stink so many spears missed Toto! holy shit she's so evil she cackles AT US! Toto goes to get the guys! climbing with lions tail!  its slow goin witchy is into brutalist architecture olia jo um owium jo um hooknosed green mongols with naginatas they all managed to get their asses kicked oz is parked right next to the front door? what a doofus a heart is not judged by how much you love but by how you are loved by others You are looking at a man who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom, and chuckled at catastrophe. I was petrified so the message is stay at home? surely she just means for two years until graduation, yeah? now i know ive got a heart, cuz its breaking say goodbye toto theres no place like home she'll have to give up Toto anyway, unless Gulch ate it in the storm
