THE WOMAN KING (2022) Movie Reaction! | First Time Watch! | Viola Davis | Thuso Mbedu | John Boyega

Michael & Vivian react to The Woman King, a historical action drama centered on the Agojie—an all-female warrior unit that protected the Kingdom of Dahomey in West Africa during the 1800s. The film follows General Nanisca as she trains the next generation of fighters while confronting both external threats and painful truths tied to the transatlantic slave trade. This reaction stands out for its mix of emotional weight, large-scale battle sequences, and character-driven storytelling, as Michael & Vivian experience the film’s intensity, performances, and cultural significance in real time. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Old Guard, Love & Basketball, Beyond the Lights, The Secret Life of Bees, Cloak & Dagger), the film stars Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder, Fences, Suicide Squad, The Help, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Thuso Mbedu (The Underground Railroad, Shuga, Scandal!, Saints & Sinners, Is’thunzi), Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die, Captain Marvel, Matilda the Musical, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Fast Girls), Sheila Atim (The Underground Railroad, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Bruised, Girl from the North Country, Constellations), and John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Attack the Block, Pacific Rim: Uprising, Detroit), bringing together a cast that blends powerful performances with major franchise recognition and crossover appeal for reaction audiences. ___________________________________________________ We've got merch!
