The Woman Walking the Length of the Earth...

from Kindred Roads Podcast · host Mary Goggin

What does it take to walk the entire length of the Earth, alone, as a woman? Lucy is an Australian adventurer on the final stretch of an almost decade long walk from the southern tip of Argentina to the top of Alaska. She started in 2017 with basically zero through hiking experience, her longest hike before this was three days, and somehow became the first woman to ever walk the length of South America along the way. She's also Australian Geographic's Adventurer of the Year, and yes, Wombat has his own award too! In this episode we get into the real safety playbook she's built for herself walking alone through some of the most remote and unpredictable places on Earth, the scariest moments she's faced and how she talked her way through them, and what it's actually like to be taken in by strangers over and over again for nine years. We also talk about the setbacks nobody saw coming, what almost made her quit, and what she's learned about trust, fear, and who really shows up for you when it counts. This one's for anyone who thinks their window for something big has already closed. Lucy's living proof that it hasn't.
