The Wonder Years: S1E7: Independence Day

Happy Wonder Wednesday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today, I covered S1E7: Independence Day, which aired on November 3, 2021. In this episode Bill comes up with a solution for Kim's car desires, but the solution is only pleasing to him; Dean is worried about seeming uncool when Clisby ends up chaperoning him and his friends. I thought this was a fun episode and I loved Grandaddy Clisby. He was hilarious. Also Dean hanging out at the mall with his friends and wanting his independence from his parents, as well as Granddaddy Clisby not wanting to give up his car keys and give up his independence and freedom, but also willing to accept your limitations and knowing when to finally say I'm done on your own terms. I could see similarities to this episode in other OG Wonder Years episodes, Season 3 The Powers That Be, Season 3 Wayne in Wheels, Season 5 Grandpa's Car.
