PART TWO: The Wooden Bird continues as we hear how Ukrainian families came up with clever ways to save many Jewish families. Over 2,700 Ukrainians have been recognized as "Righteous Among the Nations" for these efforts. The Wooden Bird was a carved item that the Jewish family kept over many decades since the late 1930s and early 1940s. Our story shows how this item survived the war and finally ended up in the hands of the Ukrainian family that helped the Jewish family during the Holocaust. What a wonder act of love.
