The Woodland

from Keygan R. Boesiger · host Keygan R. Boesiger

It's late, but I got on a roll through the end of this piece. Still in the sketching stages, but got a lot of ideas thrown out there and have a lot to work with as I continue to develop this show. Everything is original. "We open with Nathan. A mere boy scout four years ago who has recently found himself lost in the woods at the age of seventeen. You'd figure he'd be well suited for this type of situation, however, there is something the scouts neglected to tell him... He manages to get a fire going to keep himself warm throughout the night. It'll be easier to find out where he is in the morning. As he begins getting ready to get some sleep he starts hearing things; from his right, his left, and immediately behind him. He hears what seems to be thunder, but doesn't feel any raindrops. Again, something on his right moves; he swears something is there. Finally, deciding that he's just paranoid, Nathan lays down to slumber. Suddenly, he feels an enormous shock and his fire is put out. Something is here! He leaps up trying to retrieve his flashlight as hasty forces seem to be coming from every direction. He desperately fumbles his light around before he eventually grabs it, shields his eyes and throws it in the face of whatever is that's after him. Trembling, Nathan looks up to see nothing in front of him. Something was there. Too spooked to sleep, his heart thumping out of his chest, he tries to understand what just happened. Was it a bear? Why would it run off like that with nothing? It couldn't have been...someone?"
