THE WORD AS SPIRITUAL FOOD!

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Scripture: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." — Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) Devotional Message: When Jesus spoke these words to the tempter in the wilderness, He reminded us of a profound truth: just as our physical bodies need food to survive, our spirits need the Word of God to thrive. The Bible isn’t just a book—it’s our daily sustenance, nourishment for the soul, guidance for the path, and strength in every trial. Too often, we feed our minds and bodies while neglecting the deeper hunger of our hearts. We chase after news, entertainment, and daily tasks, yet our spirits remain dry. But when we feast on Scripture—meditating on it, applying it, and hiding it in our hearts—we are filled with life, peace, and wisdom from above. God’s Word gives clarity in confusion, hope in despair, and joy in sorrow. It realigns us with truth in a world of noise and lies. Just as we would not skip meals and expect to function well, we cannot afford to neglect the spiritual nourishment the Word provides. Today, ask yourself: Am I feeding my spirit with God’s Word daily? What truth from Scripture do I need to digest and apply in my life today? Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. Help me to hunger for it more than anything else and to live by every word You speak. Nourish my soul daily with Your truth and strengthen me for every season of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
