The Word On Wednesday : Episode 20: How we Got to Heaven (Eternal Life)

Key Points: Eternal Life is the knowledge and expression of God in His son, Jesus Christ. Eternal Life is a person; He is Christ. He is the God-life at work in us. We received Him, who is Eternal Life by belief. The reason Christ was sent to the world, received authority over all flesh, given power on earth, and given glory on earth was to give us Eternal life. Eternal Life is Faith; it is Christ and His finished work. Eternal Life is the gospel, the message of Christ, and His finished work. It is the power of the Life of God received at salvation. By Eternal Life, we are kept from the Destroyer, protected, and never lost. We can never lose our Eternal Life. The Holy Spirit does the growth work for the fruit of Eternal life in us. The Holy Spirit works out this God-life in us by enlightening the eyes of our understanding to bring us into Truth. Therefore, Eternal Life is the gift of Christ received by belief but worked out by the Holy Spirit.
