The Works of the Flesh: Relational Sin -- A Sermon on Galatians 5:20-21

To live according to the old age, to live in the flesh, means to be enslaved by sin. Sin at its nature is a breakdown of relationship, a putting of self first before God and others. This manifests itself in numerous ways enumerated by Paul as works of the flesh. In these, we (1) Spurn God, (2) Spurn Others, and (3) Spurn Ourselves.
