Episode 5 - The World Looks Away

Between September 20–23, 1939, Poland's resistance collapses: major armies surrender, Warsaw is besieged, and the Soviets and Germans divide the country. Heydrich initiates Nazi policies that lay groundwork for the Holocaust. In the US, Roosevelt pushes to revise neutrality laws. Globally, Romania faces assassination and repression, China battles Japan, and a last cavalry charge occurs in Poland. Sigmund Freud dies in exile, Jewish radios are confiscated in Germany, and Churchill endures history's most trying three weeks.
