The Worship Song Problem: Are We Singing Truth… or Just Feelings? - EP128
from Grace Escape · host Justin and Tiffany
This week we’re taking a closer look at the lyrics being sung in many modern Pentecostal worship sets. Are these songs actually grounded in Scripture… or are they quietly teaching theology that the Bible never promised? We examine several popular worship songs and compare the lyrics directly to what God’s Word says about the gospel, the Holy Spirit, and who worship is really supposed to point to. Our goal isn’t to pick music apart, it’s to make sure the songs filling our hearts are actually pointing us to Jesus and the truth of the gospel.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. - Colossians 3:16 ESVLast Week: Music Manipulation: How Pentecostal Services Engineer Emotion - EP127Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!!
