Jeff Desmond, M.D., began his career at Michigan Medicine in 1993 as a lecturer in the Department of Surgery. Since then, he has taken on a number of different roles, including becoming the organization’s first director of clinical quality and, most recently, as an associate professor of emergency medicine and U-M Health’s chief medical officer. At the end of the month, Desmond is planning to retire.
