The Year That Was #4: On The Ground (Part 1 - The CAC)
from Health & Living · host BFM Media
One of the most enduring images of 2021 was the sight of thousands of people crowding the COVID-19 Assessment Centres during the pandemic’s third wave in July. With Ministry of Health’s resources stretched to the limit, NGOs like the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia’s Response and Relief Team (Imaret) sprang into action to deploy their volunteers on the ground. In the final episode of this short series where we reflect on 2021, we speak to two medical NGOs that were crucial in the battle against the pandemic. First up, Dr Ahmad Munawwar Helmi Salim, IMARET’s COVID-19 Task Force Coordinator, shares about their efforts to support the response at the CACs, and pays tribute to the unsung heroes: the volunteers.Listen to the other episodes:The Year That Was #1: Working From HomeThe Year That Was #2: FrontlinersThe Year That Was #3: ParentsThe Year That Was #4: On The Ground (Part 2 - Vaccinations)Image credit: IMARET Facebook PageSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
