The Zag: Episode 228 w/ Christopher Lo-Records

from The Zag · host NLC Los Angeles

Christopher Lo-Records, 2014 NLC LA Fellow, is soon to be a published author. Released by an indie press in Riverside, called Inlandia, his book called Care: Stories is comprised of 14 stories about queer characters living in the Inland Empire, CA in a realistically dystopic near future. The stories are diverse in focus and perspective: an elderly lesbian couple raising their two agoraphobic adult sons, an alcoholic celebrating her 58th birthday, a non-binary person arranging a random hookup with a man down the street, a recently divorced queer woman in her 40s who almost accidentally falls into a co-dependent sexual relationship with a 20 year old man. Hear more about Chris' writing process and how the book's setting is more relevant than ever.
