The Zodiac Killer

On December 20, 1968, David Arthur Faraday, 17, and Betty Lou Jensen, 16 were out on a date. David was driving the family car and he’d picked up Betty saying they were heading to see a school Christmas Show. They didn’t go to the school but wound up at a friend’s house. After that the couple went to a restaurant for dinner. So far so good. They drove out to Lake Herman Road at around 10:00. This was the spot all the kids knew was for necking and messing around. It almost sounds like the lead in to a slasher film. At approximately 11:00 someone walked up to the side of the car, aimed a 22 caliber pistol at the two teenagers and told them to get out of the car. David began to exit the vehicle when he was shot in the head. Betty jumped from her side of the car and tried to run for it. She was able to make 28 feet before being shot five times through the back. The killer was never caught. He claimed to have killed 37 people.
