The Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture has been tasked by Cabinet to lead South Africa's National Oral History Programme. The program's objective is to generate information that will be added to the country's current archival collections. The conference is themed "The World in Troubled Times: Oral History Challenges and Opportunities."
