Tonight’s show is special in many ways. How often do you get to talk to a member of a multi-million dollar club, that is completely open, humble, and ready to extend a helping hand to anybody? Who lives his purpose, building the legacy and impact most of us would only dream of? Ed Wiens built a global business (likely a few times), lost it all, and built again.

I had the privilege to meet Ed Wiens a few times in person, and every time he spoke from the stage, he captivated the room.

He masters the art of influencing people with stories and good reframing. He knows it stays with the audience much better than dry facts and figures. It sure does. Every story he ever told, stuck with me. And since he’s a son of missionary parents, and he followed in their footsteps, it offers some explanation about his character and honor.

Before we started recording, I asked if there was anything off-limits – and he assured me that he was an open book. I truly appreciate it because every time I’m around him, I know I’m going to learn something valuable. I hope you will feel the same way after listening to our conversation.

We spoke about:

  • His childhood in Peru, and Alaska with missionary parents
  • How it felt natural as a calling to follow in their footsteps
  • How he soon realized that’s important to pay attention to life and its purpose
  • How he found a way to fund his missions and support causes important to him and became wealthy
  • What he says about those who say “ the money is the root of all evil”
  • How his work and every dollar earned affect others
  • What does it require to be a high-ranked and multi-million-dollar club member and what skills he can use from the ministry
  • How he and his wife Rebekah found themselves naturally in the service
  • When he was first exposed to network marketing and why he believes it’s the noblest of professions
  • What trifecta of events did he overcome at some point in his life when just one of those things could have broken a man and what helped him through
  • How we all love comeback stories – and how comeback always involves setbacks
  • How we’re tested on our principles in times of difficulties
  • How important is a positive mindset
  • How he dealt with his loss and how it led to a new happy life chapter
  • What’s his belief system
  • How you can become successful beyond your wildest dreams if you put enough effort into it
  • What is important to know and evaluate
  • How important it is to be a dreamer
  • Why he’s focused on legacy at this point in his life

    The best quotes worth noting:

    • You see the glory, but you don’t know the story

    • When you go through hell, don’t stop!

    • There is no comeback without a setback

    • Never doubt your beliefs, and never believe your doubts

The book Mr. Wiens recommended that influenced his life is now out of print but possibly you can get it on Amazon – The Ten Best-kept Secrets of Total Success
