There was a Beginning

Did the universe have a beginning? In the early part of the twentieth-century scientists emphatically believed NO! However, amazing discoveries over a fifty-year period overturned this position and led many thinkers not only to believe that universe had a beginning but that 'the cause' of the universe must be non-spacial, non-material, outside of time and immensely powerful.
