from Earth Matters · host Nonhle Mbuthuma, John Clarke
The east coast of South Africa is home to a conflict as old as the industrial age. Ten years on, there is no mine. The company is pulling out every trick in the exploitation book; undermining tourism prospects, offering a new highway and splitting families. The community's response is an unbending “no”.To sign the petition to the shareholders of the company, Mineral Resource Commodities, find it at the website of a new film documenting this story: The Shore Break.Guests:Nonhle Mbuthuma, Amadiba Crisis CommitteeJohn Clarke, social worker and writerMusic:Ntombe ThongoImage: Nonhle Mbuthuma and members of the Amadiba Crisis Committe show the red sand at Kwanyana Beach near the proposed mining site.
