Send us Fan MailThat single word “now” can change how you breathe. Romans 8:1 doesn’t offer a motivational boost or a vague hope for later, it delivers a verdict: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” We start by walking straight through the tension of Romans 7, where Paul describes the war inside him, the good he wants to do and the evil that still shows up through the flesh. If Paul names that struggle so plainly, what keeps a believer from collapsing into guilt or trying to earn peace with God through constant self-fixing? We dig into what “no condemnation” actually means in biblical terms: a settled judicial standing, not a feeling and not a reward for spiritual progress. We talk about union with Christ by faith, how Christ’s death is counted as our death, how his righteousness becomes the ground of our acceptance, and why accusations from conscience or Satan cannot overturn what God has pronounced. Along the way we challenge works-based salvation thinking, especially the idea that you must add obedience to “solidify” what grace began. We also connect the dots between justification and sanctification without confusing them. Holiness matters, but it’s fruit, not payment. The gospel doesn’t free us to stay under sin’s rule, it frees us from sin’s dominion and brings us into new life by the Spirit. We close with honest listener reflections about feelings versus faith and why Romans 8:1 remains one of the most comforting lines a Christian can return to again and again.
