Hello everybody, good evening, today is Christmas, 25th December 2023. So I'm kind of feeling, you know, an empty nester. So I know I was wondering like, what could I do today to make me feel better? So that's why I'm recording this episode.
The title is, These are the Moments I Treasure. And the subtitle is, In response to Dancing Elephants prompt, it's a publication. And they have writing prompts and in response to their prompt 12 or 52. What is one moment in your life that you treasure?
So there was an article, I think it was written by somebody else. What is one moment in life you treasure? After reading the above article, I have given the link there in my article, okay? So please go ahead and read that.
So after reading the above article, I copied the link to the article and pasted it into my medium back office draft in December. You may ask why? I wanted to participate in writing this prompt. Today, three weeks after saving the draft and reading the article, I said, I asked myself, Oh my God, it is already three weeks.
Do I have to participate? Quickly the answer came to my mind, Lalita, just do it. There is no time limit. Now I got stuck with the specific wordings of the following prompt.
So here's what is one moment in your life that you treasure? Hmm, I got stuck again. One moment, one moment. I'm pretty sure editor Vidya Suri of the Collecting Smiles publication knew that people like me would get stuck.
And that is why she wrote the following. Feel free to describe more than one. At the end of your post, please add a couple of lines about how recalling these incidents make you feel. Okay, now I'm warmed up.
I live by the following quote, always do your best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment. It will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
That's by Don McGill Reap and I've given the link to the brainy quote. With that said, to quote a few moments I treasure, exercising both in gym or at home workout. I treasure, making small charitable contributions, seeing claps and responses in my articles on medium.com, spending time with my husband, children, their family and my extended family members, volunteering to make flower gardens in temple, lighting a lamp in the morning and evening on my altar. Everything enchanting different loca seems allowed.
Cooking with clear intention about quantity, quality and nutrition. Having a meaningful hard to hard conversation with my close friends. Learning different types of meditation and doing them. Recording my podcast episodes.
Watching the sunrise from home and the beach. Having someone take my picture while I stand at the end of a pier in an ocean. I feel as though the ocean is telling me, hey Lalita, go ahead, I am there to support you in the background. Watching Rangoli traditional Indian decoration patterns made with ground rice particularly during festivals.
Recalling this simple but mundane experiences makes me feel happy, thankful, excited and abundant. Just taking part in writing this prompt in itself. Help me realize that as of now by God's grace, I am truly living a life without self-judgment or rigid because of choosing to do my best and enjoy every moment of my day. Thanks to the amazing editors to Dancing Elephant Press.
