They do not know you By Kai-Anne Clews

from Original Christian Poetry · host Kai-Anne Clews

My mother, my beloved Queen Mary -  your words so pure, you city of God -  Even the most basic of your precepts -  And I swoon with the poetry of thereof... Oh Lady, oh the nearest to a goddess the world will ever know -  But thy start was purely mortal,  and thy stock; human, I know.  But Lady, though pure human, were kept from the raving madness of sin - But you, gentle woman -  perfect from when thou didst begin.  Only one kept to such purity Could bear the Lord in her womb -  For any other sin stained woman -  The fire would lead to the tomb. Like the purest Gold of the Ark of the Covenant, is the flesh that encased our great Lord -  Only one perfectly abstinent, who never for one moment ceased to adore... If love is the glass-like surface, In which the refection of the beloved is seen -  Then she is the most perfect reflector -  Showing a true image of Him, sent to redeem.  Source Documents:  Mystical City of God Vol 1, 2, 3 & 4 is a book written in the 17th century by the Franciscan nun Venerable Mary of Jesus of Ágreda. According to María de Ágreda, the book was to a considerable extent dictated to her by the Blessed Virgin Mary and regarded the life of the Virgin Mary and the divine plan for creation and the salvation of souls. The work alternates between descriptions of the Trinity, the Virgin Mary's life, and the spiritual guidance she provides to the author, by whom her words were reproduced for the spiritual benefit and growth of the reader. The book describes at length the various virtues, and how the reader should live in order to see them reflected in their own life, with the Virgin Mary as their model for sanctity.
