They Live

John Carpenter's "They Live" is a silly film that attempts to attack real social issues. The concept, a drifter by the name of Nada finds himself in the middle of a city that is completely overthrown by aliens. Thing is, he's the only one who can see them. How you ask? Well with a very special pair of sunglasses of course! When Nada finds them he can see the world for what it truly is. Billboards, magazines and even the food in your own grocery stores show what the intentions of the people who make them truly are. A John Carpenter social satire on the Ronald Regan era. Oh, and also a lot of gun shooting, exceptionally choreographed fight scenes and some truly poetic 1980's one-liners. Now my friends, who is ready to chew bubblegum and kick some ass?
